Position Summary & Duties: The GIS Specialist is a direct-hire position working for HGA in either Texas or Louisiana. This position will be eligible to work a hybrid schedule. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented GIS Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the production of mapbooks, geodatabase management, and a strong familiarity with survey data. Knowledge of pipeline routing, engineering, and construction is essential for this role. The GIS Specialist will play a critical role in supporting various projects through the creation, management, and analysis of spatial data. GIS Specialist Key Responsibilities: • Mapbook Production: o Design, develop, and produce high-quality mapbooks for various projects. o Ensure accuracy and consistency of spatial data presented in mapbooks. o Customize mapbooks to meet specific project requirements and client needs. • Geodatabase Management: o Create, maintain, and update geodatabases to support project needs. o Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security within the geodatabase. o Perform regular data quality checks and updates to keep the geodatabase current. • Survey Data Integration: o Import, process, and analyze survey data to support project requirements. o Ensure accurate representation of survey data in GIS applications. o Collaborate with survey teams to ensure data compatibility and accuracy. • Pipeline Routing, Engineering, and Construction: o Utilize GIS tools to assist in the planning and routing of pipeline projects. o Analyze spatial data to support engineering and construction activities. o Provide GIS-based solutions to optimize pipeline routes and minimize environmental impact. o Collaborate with survey, engineering and construction teams to integrate GIS data into project workflows. • Web-Based GIS Tools: o Manage and administer web-based GIS applications using ArcGIS Server, AGOL, and ArcGIS Enterprise. o Publish, share, and maintain GIS services and web maps. o Develop and maintain web-based GIS applications to support project needs. o Ensure the accessibility and usability of GIS data and applications for team members and clients. • Spatial Analysis and Reporting: o Conduct spatial analysis to support decision-making processes. o Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders. o Assist in the development of GIS-based models and simulations for project planning.
