Full-Time Airport Employee Screener with an active Security Guard Card. Job Summary We are seeking dedicated Security Officers to join our team at the Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE). In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment by conducting patrols, monitoring access points, and enforcing security protocols throughout the terminal. This position requires both indoor and outdoor walking, attention to detail, and the ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors, and the public.
Responsibilities - Conduct regular patrols inside and around the terminal building to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
- Perform personnel identification checks to verify authorized access.
- Inspect vehicles and materials entering and exiting secure areas.
- Monitor and control access points, including employee screening and exit lane observation.
- Complete security and administrative audits assigned.
- Prepare clear and detailed incident and audit reports.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies.
- Collaborate with airport staff and law enforcement as needed to maintain a safe environment.
- Adhere to all company and regulatory security procedures and policies.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work flexible schedules to support airport operations
Qualifications: - Wisconsin Security Guard License
- Wisconsin Driver's License
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a security guard role is preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of security guard principles and procedures.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Basic computer skills for recording incidents and maintaining logs.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather
Requirements: - Must pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug test.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Completion of any required training or certifications in security.
