Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med Surg position at an acute care setting, requiring a MO or compact RN license and strong Med Surg skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in the Med Surg unit of an acute care hospital
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm to 7:00am
• 36 hours per week required with day and weekend rotation
• Unit has 39 beds with patient ratios of 1:6
• Unit also covers monitoring of patients with pacemakers, potassium abnormalities, and basic telemetry (no acute cardiac cases)
• Basic telemetry experience is a plus but not required
• Meditech EMR is used and experience is highly preferred
• Medication system used is McKesson
• First to float to other Med Surg units within the nurse's scope of practice
• Must wear royal blue scrubs, which are not provided
• Opportunities to care for a variety of Med Surg and basic telemetry patients
• Hospital may cancel 1 shift every 4 weeks
• Travelers are expected to secure their own housing and should be prepared for potential challenges in finding affordable accommodations
• First time travelers will be considered

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (ACLS and NIHSS may be obtained during the placement process at no cost)
• Meditech EMR experience highly preferred
