Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time Special Education position is designed for a dedicated educator to support 7th-grade students at the middle school level. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and tailored services to a diverse group of learners, including those with autism, learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, and behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to a caseload of up to 16 students with varying special education needs.
• Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Conduct report writing and maintain detailed documentation of student progress and interventions.
• Utilize a mix of push-in and pull-out instructional strategies to support students within their other classroom environments.
• Build positive relationships with students to foster social and emotional development.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Special Education.
• Up-to-date Special Education certification.
• Experience working with middle school students, specifically in addressing diverse disabilities including autism and emotional disturbances.
• Strong skills in behavioral intervention and relationship building.
• Ability to manage and coordinate a caseload effectively.

Location: Bernalillo, NM
Position Type: Contract | Full Time
Contract Duration: Continuation from January 20th through End of School Year with potential for renewal.
