Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher working a full school year contract within a K-12 alternative program specialized for students with autism who have significant needs. This role is based in North Charleston, SC, and focuses on supporting a severe caseload.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing individualized instruction and support to a caseload comprising two high school students and one middle school student with autism.
• Managing behavioral and educational challenges associated with intellectual disabilities, emotional disabilities, or multi-categorical special education needs.
• Collaborating with staff and families to develop and implement effective educational plans tailored to the students' unique requirements.
• Maintaining a safe and nurturing learning environment, understanding the physical and emotional demands of the position.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education certification for intellectual disabilities, emotional disabilities, or multi-categorical special education.
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum, especially those with intensive needs.
• Ability to manage a physically challenging caseload with patience and resilience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule and Location:

• Work hours are from 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM.
• Position is located in North Charleston, SC.
• Contract duration is for the complete school year.
