Job Description

We are partnering with a well-established, family-owned company in Simsbury that is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their close-knit finance team. This role offers the opportunity to grow within a stable organization that values accuracy, collaboration, and work-life balance.

• Facilitate the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process

• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger

• Perform account and bank reconciliations

• Assist in preparing internal financial statements and management reports

• Support the budgeting and forecasting process

• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries

• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and support

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 2+ years of experience in a general accounting role

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Willingness to learn and take initiative in a team environment
