We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our client's passionate team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor , you'll be responsible for:
* Meet with client multiple times a week to provide therapeutic individual sessions and addictions counseling.
* Accurately evaluate individuals through a series of assessments, including a bio-psychosocial comprehensive (Intake) assessment, to establish appropriateness for treatment in this program.
* Ensure that individuals are psychologically stable prior to and while in treatment.
* Documentation for individual, group, and insurance needs in accordance with all regulatory state and agency standards.
* Encourage family members, and other significant persons to participate in treatment and to evaluate their co‐dependency/ co-addiction during the treatment process.
* Provides crisis intervention, if and/or when needed,
* Provide guidance and support to clients, providing positive interventions while nurturing personal growth and dignity of persons served.
* To address individual social issues, and self-actualization issues as prime and individual progress permits, identifying and planning for continuing treatment in these areas after discharge,
* Provide Case Management and your referral skills to best help clients land in the most appropriate aftercare as part of our comprehensive services and support.
Qualifications:
* Addiction counseling: at least year (Preferred)
* Addiction Treatment experience (desired)- Clinical experience as a Licensed Social Worker or Professional Counselor
* Current certification in good standing as an Addictions Counselor (CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LCADC) from the South Carolina Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (preferred)
* Candidates with trainee status and significant experience in the areas listed above will also be considered.
Work Location : In person Job Type : Full-time Salary: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
