Position

This position is a temporary position for summer 2025. The candidate provides support to attorneys and employees in the litigation area of the legal department . The intern gathers information, conducts research, prepares legal documents, and performs other responsibilities to support the department. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) , temporary position that works from WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Provides entry- or intermediate-level legal services as appropriate to the litigation team
• Works with litigation functions to learn best practices within the insurance industry and re ceives guidance, training, and mentoring from legal professionals in delivering assignments.
• Researches legal issues, state insurance laws and regulations, and drafts advisory memoranda and informal legal opinions based on findings.
• Interacts with colleagues, interns, and other internal or external customers to plan assignments and resolve day-to-day operational problems.
• Assists in gathering legal documents as requested.

Qualifications

The most qualified candidate will have:

• Completed at least two year at an ABA-accredited law school by Summer 2025.
• Desire to work in litigation
• Knowledge of Utah Rules of Civil Procedure, tort liability, and legal research
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and professionalism.
• Ability to handle confidential matters appropriately.
• Strong oral and written communication skills with emphasis on technical writing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving skills.

The pay for this position is $25.00 per hour.
