Job Description
In this role you will provide International Business Systems Integration Engineering support to the GLOBAL HAWK PROGRAM OFFICE within the US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson AFB.
Essential Job Functions:
The candidate will apply an understanding of Global Hawk and USN TRITON weapon systems to assess the quality of international Global Hawk weapon system prime candidate work products and assess risks.
The candidate will apply an understanding of Global Hawk architectures, Global Hawk radars, Global Hawk communications, and USN TRITON communications to assess quality of international weapon system prime candidate work products, evaluate the technical needs, monitor hardware and software integrity, and to determine subsequent requirements associated with planned and conceptual changes to the airborne, ground station, and maintenance systems.
The candidate will assist with continual assessment of the weapon system engineering efforts as they relate to overall program schedule, performance progress, and resolution of technical problems.
The candidate will:
- Assist in assessing the effectiveness and viability of the program’s prime engineering designs to resolve exportability issues.
- Assist with monitoring engineering and configuration change activity on the USG program for applicability to the international Global Hawk weapon system and maintaining the approved key management plan coordinating any necessary changes that may occur over the program lifecycle. The candidate will coordinate with the program’s prime candidate and international customer to ensure flight test reports fully and adequately document the test results.
- Assist in interpreting operational and technical requirements and determination of subsystem interfaces.
- Support analysis of design trade-offs within limitations imposed by cost, priorities, schedules and other related program activities, and assess program requirements for reliability, maintainability, quality assurance, manufacturing, support equipment, spare parts, and configuration control.
- Assist with examination of new technologies, developments, and concepts to assess their application to the international Global Hawk weapon system. The candidate will assist in communication of developments regarding the evolution of an acceptable and exportable system to allow organic mission planning.
- Assist with monitoring engineering and configuration change activity on the USG program for applicability to the international Global Hawk weapon system and maintaining the approved key management plan coordinating any necessary changes that may occur over the program life cycle.
- Assist in overseeing and coordinating frequency allocation and spectrum management.
- Evaluate changes proposed for mitigating impacts of DMS and leverage recommendations for resolution of DMS derived from USG and TRITON solutions, as feasible.
- Assist the program’s in resolving export compliance issues and provide support for assuring the program meets required Enhanced End Use Monitoring (EEUM) provisions of the LOA.
- Provide systems integration technical expertise to assist with the overall lifecycle architecture, design, development, integration, and configuration control to meet interoperability requirements for an international Global Hawk weapon system.
- Assist in determining the basic configuration, suitability, foreign releasability/export compliance parameters and acceptability of international Global Hawk weapon system interoperability design solutions to include interoperability associated with the air vehicle, ground segment, communications systems, data exploitation systems, logistics, and future modernization programs in concert with the program’s prime candidate, USG, and customer operators, and other Government agencies as required.
- Assist with the coordination of international Global Hawk weapon system interoperability requirements, applying an understanding of Global Hawk and USN TRITON weapon systems.
- Assist with planning and coordination of site survey teams, technical interchange meetings, design reviews, test readiness reviews, configuration review boards, technical working groups, configuration audits, product acceptance reviews, reliability and maintainability working groups, interoperability working groups, and other working level meetings.
- Assist in an interface between Global Hawk operators and ACC planners to guide international Global Hawk activation/investment plans towards optimal joint interoperability actions.
- Support mission development/Concept of Operations (CONOPS) working groups, site activation/task force efforts, and participate in modernization working groups to assess out-year improvements that warrant consideration/cost-share.
- Assist in assessing cost, schedule and technical performance of proposed interoperability solutions.
- Participate in International Business case planning, coordination and execution throughout the acquisition and closeout/reconciliation phases, including active participation in joint development planning meetings for the follow-on international Global Hawk weapon system sustainment program.
- Assist in writing and developing contract SOW documents and CDRLs and participate in contract proposal technical evaluations designed to govern international Global Hawk FMS weapon systems procurement.
- Apply an understanding of ISR UAV information assurance (IA) processes and activities to develop action plans, assist in IMP/IMS development, assess risks, and resolve issues.
- Apply an understanding of Authority to Operate/Authority to Test to assist with developing schedules, identifying risks, preparing and coordinating documentation, developing test requirements, and obtaining the necessary approvals in order to test and deliver the Global Hawk system to the international customer.
- Apply an understanding of AWC processes for UAVs to assist with developing schedules, identifying risks, preparing and coordinating documentation, developing test requirements, and obtaining the necessary approvals in order to test and deliver the Global Hawk system to the international customer.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Possess a Bachelor of Science degree, or higher and a minimum of 15 years of Global Hawk experience with a minimum of 8 years working in the specialty task area for the DoD.
An adjudicated DoD Top Secret/SCI Security clearance on the First Day of employment.
