Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Database Architect/Engineer to design, implement, and optimize robust database solutions that support our organization's information management needs. The ideal candidate will be proficient in designing scalable and efficient database architectures, collaborating with stakeholders, ensuring data integrity, and integrating emerging technologies to drive performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Optimization: Design scalable and efficient database architectures and ensure the models support both current and future business needs.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and ensure the design meets business requirements.
• Data Models: Create logical and physical data models, define relationships, constraints, and maintain data integrity. Ensure data models are optimized for performance.
• Database Management System (DBMS): Evaluate and recommend the best database management systems, tools, and technologies based on project needs.
• Performance Monitoring: Regularly analyze database performance and implement strategies to optimize performance, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
• Security & Compliance: Integrate security best practices and collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with regulations and protect sensitive data.
• Migration Planning: Plan and execute data migration projects with smooth transitions between database systems.
• Documentation: Maintain clear, accessible documentation for database architectures, configurations, and models.
• Team Collaboration: Work with development, system administrators, and other teams to ensure smooth integration of database solutions within the tech stack.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in database architecture and management, with proven experience as a business or process leader.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proficient in: Python, SQL, Databricks, Snowflake.
• Databricks Expertise: Expertise in setting up Databricks environments, including cluster setup, schemas, stages, and volumes.
• Data Sharing & Governance: Knowledge of Delta sharing (CSV, Tableau, SaaS solutions) and implementing policies like Unity Catalog, RBAC, data governance, compliance, data lineage, and CI-CD.
• Medallion Architecture & Query Optimization: Experience designing data models with Medallion architecture, applying query optimization strategies, and orchestrating workflows.
• Migration Experience: Skilled in reviewing Snowflake-based product layouts, recommending migration strategies, schema conversion, performance tuning, and ensuring data consistency.
