Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking for a Data Scientist to join our dynamic team focused on solving complex data challenges to drive decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. You will be responsible for extract actionable insights from vast datasets, build predictive models, and deliver impactful solutions that meet our clients needs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure that data-driven insights influence strategic decisions and deliver business value.
This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

- Work in cross-functional engineering and product development teams with data at all stages of the analysis lifecycle to derive actionable insight.
- Analyze complex datasets, detect trends and patterns, develop conclusions, and provide recommendations for data visualizations and reporting.
- Verify data quality and/or ensure it via data cleaning for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform statistical analysis and utilize results to improve the model and data pipeline.
- Collaborate with analytics teams and SMEs to provide recommendations for data solutions that encourage data-driven decision making across the organization.
- Adept at picking up new tools and technologies.
- Manage large complex projects involving diverse datasets.
- Possesses excellent technology communication and thought leadership skill.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management or related technical field.
- 5+ year's experience obtaining data from multiple, disparate data sources including structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
- Demonstrable expertise in an area of data science or analytics (e.g. machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, predictive modeling and forecasting, statistics).
- Experience with data visualization tools such Power BI
- Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex datasets and extract meaningful insights
- Experience building and using models to help create advanced data analytics solutions
- Self-driven, independent, critical thinker eager to learn new skills and work independently
Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
- Ability to translate business problems into analytical frameworks and solutions
- Understanding of Agile methodologies

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $69,700.00 - $169,700.00.
