Purpose:
As a Clinical Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in designing, analyzing, and presenting analytical solutions to diverse teams, including physicians, administrators, and organizational leaders. Your insights will summarize population characteristics and outcomes, supporting data-driven decision-making that enhances patient care, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reporting specifications meet the needs of various stakeholders, utilizing clinical and administrative data from systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Medipac. Your final reports will be aggregated and presented using tools like SQL Developer, Qlik, and Cognos. Accuracy is key in this role; you will validate reporting logic by comparing analytical outputs to source data and collaborating with the Expert Clinical Data Analyst. Flexibility in working independently or as part of a team is essential.
Responsibilities:
Conduct clinical analyses in a collaborative environment and communicate findings effectively to both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
Engage with various teams throughout each project to ensure data definitions and assumptions are clear and accurate.
Identify and analyze trends in outcomes, utilization, medical quality, and other critical areas.
Adhere to departmental deadlines, which may require extended hours to ensure project completion.
Prioritize tasks efficiently and complete assignments in a timely manner.
Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal departments and external contacts as necessary.
Stay informed about new solutions relevant to the department by participating in webinars and occasional conferences (some travel may be required).
Learn and adapt to new software programs and upgrades as needed.
Maintain a high level of accuracy and timeliness in all tasks.
Lead discussions with multi-disciplinary teams, including senior management, department heads, and physicians, to facilitate collaboration.
Identify current and future data challenges, develop actionable recommendations, and provide timely updates on any issues encountered.
Exhibit advanced problem-solving skills by utilizing various information sources.
Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure the accuracy of all data.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Healthcare Management, or a related field, OR a High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant work experience.
Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of SQL/Business Intelligence is preferred.
Previous experience in healthcare is a plus.
Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Completion of Epic (Electronic Medical Record) training is mandatory within the first year of employment.
