Job Summary: Must be able to work onsite in Grand Rapids, MI. As an integral member of the Development team, the BI Developer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of mission-critical enterprise BI reports. Working with both TPG customers and internally with TPG staff, the BI Developer will gather and document requirements to meet business needs. Using the skills and experience as a BI Developer, they will then use those requirements to design, develop, test, implement, and support BI datasets, reports, and dashboards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Development of new BI dashboards. This involves working with clients to gather requirements and propose BI solutions. The development portion will involve building datasets using SQL, transformation scripts using ABL, custom calculations using DAX, and dashboards using PowerBI. Implementation will involve deploying the dashboards with documentation as well as training clients.
• Support of existing BI dashboards. This will involve responding to questions from clients and making bug fixes, as needed.
• Works with the consultants and internal staff to formulate questions, analyze data, and make recommendations, when appropriate.
• Actively participates in discussions with users (internal and customer) to understand requirements and propose suitable visualizations (mock-ups) to meet user requirements.
• Where needed, gets involved in the design, development, and architecture of data warehouses (ETL) for customers, internal needs.
• Design, code, and tests results to confirm that captured metrics are accurate.
• Makes database/field recommendations to the Development team when changes could be made to the data structure to simplify the data analysis.
• Understands the various BI tools that TPG and its customers will deploy (Power BI, Jaspersoft, Talend, Tableau, etc).
• Works to familiarize self with all the data sources used at TPG, so data can be pulled in where needed (Salesforce, HelpDesk, QuickBooks, etc…)
• Working with the internal departments (Sales, Consulting, Support, Development, IT, Administration, etc…) to develop visuals for analyzing Helpdesk, Salesforce, and accounting data.
• Responsible for working with the Consulting team to create visuals (reports and dashboards) to meet the needs of our customer base for dissecting and analyzing Picas data.
• Works with the Development team as needed to improve the reporting and visualizations in Picas.Next.
• Looks for opportunities for continued education as it relates to BI tools and overall understanding of BI concepts.
• Works with the Sales and Consulting team to continue to develop and enhance the Picas.BI offering.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field
• The ability to think critically and execute thoroughly
• The ability to multi-task and manage many details and moving parts
• The ability to solve complex issues in a timely manner
• A strong ability to focus on detail and quality

· A strong affinity to work on teams with collaboration and problem solving at the center, along with some fun

· Proficient in Power BI, MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must show general database knowledge and be proficient with SQL and Progress ABL.
