AP Chemistry (with Biology) Teacher

August 2025 start

Our client is an international centre, based within a well-established Chinese high school in Shenzhen, offers globally recognised curricula to high-achieving students preparing for overseas university study. Position Overview

The school is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified AP Chemistry teacher with the ability to also teach High School Biology. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, inquiry-based instruction that prepares students for the AP examinations and supports their academic growth and university aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

- Teach AP Chemistry and High School-level Biology to Grade 10–12 students.

- Design and deliver lessons aligned with the AP curriculum and internal standards.

- Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, lab work, and formal testing.

- Provide academic support and guidance for students preparing for AP exams.

- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.

- Participate in departmental planning, parent-teacher meetings, and school events.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field; teaching qualification preferred.

- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience, including AP Chemistry.

- Strong command of English; ability to work in a bilingual/multicultural environment.

- Experience in inquiry-based, student-centred teaching.

- Effective classroom management and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

*Experience teaching in an international or AP school setting.

*Familiarity with AP course structure and College Board requirements.

*Ability to teach in both English and Chinese is a plus, but not required.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:

Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)

Must be a native speaker of English

Prefer candidates with international experience

Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted

Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted

Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary   CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied

Housing:
