Kodiak Veterinary Hospital on Kodiak Island Alaska is seeking an Associate Veterinarian

ABOUT THE HOSPITAL

We recently moved into a brand-new facility, built just for our team. There are plenty of exam rooms, comfort room/acupuncture room, and much more. Our Kodak facility is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and features our own retail pet supply boutique that is open Tuesday through Saturday. We offer our clients after-hour on-call services for emergencies during the evenings and weekends but see less than 8 after-hour cases per month on average.

• Designated Dental Station w/new high-speed ultrasonic drill and handpiece

SALARY PLUS Compensation Model :

Guaranteed Annual SALARY paid month to month\n(range $130,000 - $140,000 depending on experience)

PLUS Monthly Production Bonus (we are paying your\nguaranteed salary UP FRONT and then you have the ability to produce up to and\nbeyond this salary minimum. The additional revenue produced will qualify you\nfor a production bonus based on a percentage rate of 21%-23%.)

Signing Bonus Package :

• Sign on Bonus will be paid at start date ($30,000)
• Relocation Bonus Package ($10,000 - $15,000 - or whatever it takes for this big move)

Schedule

• 3-4 days a week (10-hour shifts) – counts as full time

About Kodiak, Alaska

The City of Kodiak is located on the N.E. end of Kodiak Island. 250 miles S.W. of Anchorage with travel to the mainland available via Alaska Airlines (brief 50-minute plane ride) or the Alaska Marine Highway System (ferry service) to the City of Homer on the Kenai Peninsula. The island population ranges from roughly 13,000 permanent residents up to 15,000 in the summertime. Kodiak offers great schools with a brand-new state-of-the-art High School recently built in 2014. Shopping options include a mixture of big box stores including Walmart and Safeway, plus a host of local favorites including Spenard Builders Supply, Sutliff's Tru-Value Hardware, Kodiak Marine Supply, and more. Kodiak is home to the world-famous Kodiak Brown Bear, boasting a population of over 3,000 bears (or almost 1 for every square mile of the island!). Wildlife abounds with bears, bald eagles, foxes, black tail deer, a multitude of other birds, whales, dolphins, and more! There is a movie theater, auditorium for concerts and plays, many delicious restaurants, and even a 9-hole golf course for entertainment opportunities.
