About the position

St. Anne's-Belfield School seeks a full-time Spanish teacher and advisor. This role relies on someone who collaborates effectively with members of the Upper School World Language Department and the Upper School Faculty as a whole. A successful teacher in this position has the capacity to foster in students a love for the Spanish language and culture in a student-centered classroom that prioritizes communication over rote memorization of concepts and vocabulary. 

Full-time classroom teaching experience, strong organizational and classroom management skills, and the ability to joyfully teach upper school children are required. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching high school-aged students, be trained in comprehensible input pedagogy, and hold a master's degree in Spanish, world language education, or a related field.

As an independent school, we value community involvement and expect that the selected candidate will serve as a coach, and/or engage in student-centered extracurricular programming beyond the classroom. The position will start on August 1, 2025, but hiring for the role is happening now.
