Job Title: Tester Location: Dauphin County, PA
Duration: 5+ Months Job Responsibilities: - Additional support is required for testing and stakeholder support during this implementation.
- Client is not responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by the contractor for parking.
- RESOURCES The contractor will primarily be home headquartered and is responsible for his/her own network connectivity and home office space.
- The Client will supply a laptop, and software, including a Microsoft Team license for phone use.
- This contractor may be required to report to client headquarters on a periodic basis for training.
- OBJECTIVES OF ENGAGEMENT The primary objective of this engagement is to provide supplemental support to the Bureau's internal Business Workflow Unit (BWU) specifically on the client implementation.
- This breadth of duties includes understanding business requirements and workflow, functional testing of the client application, and post-implementation end-user support.
- The selected contractor will be responsible for evaluating the client application functionality.
- This activity involves working directly with program subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to document and understand business requirements and workflow, as well as developing and maintaining a working knowledge of the client approved system design.
- The selected contractor will develop and review test scripts to verify that the application meets business needs and functional design requirements.
- The selected contractor will perform user acceptance system testing in the UAT/Staging environment.
- This includes execution of functional tests and end-to-end workflow testing, troubleshooting errors, and documenting defects.
- The selected contractor will be responsible for reporting issues to the vendor via JIRA tickets and for monitoring tickets in need of follow-up action and retesting.
- The selected contractor will assist program SMEs in conducting verification testing in the Production environment, providing guidance on system functionality and confirmation testing in UAT/Staging.
- The selected contractor will assist in identifying potential deficiencies in application behavior and system workflow for escalation to the Business Workflow Manager, report confirmed defects to the vendor via JIRA, provide updates to SMEs on fix actions, and assist in retesting. The selected contractor will provide post-implementation end-user support.
- This activity includes working with SMEs to confirm expected system behavior, troubleshoot issues, resolve issues where possible, document and report defects, and provide guidance to SMEs.
- Generally, the contractor will perform the following tasks: Engages with program SMEs and stakeholders to verify client application functionality aligns with business needs and functional design
- Develops and performs functional testing and end-to-end workflow testing of the client application in the UAT/Staging environment
- Tests, troubleshoots, and resolves issues reported by program
- Identifies, documents, and reports defects in the application
- Monitors defect fixes, conducts retesting in UAT and supports verification testing in Production
- Escalates potential deficiencies to Business Workflow ManaAger
- Provides end-user support OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS The contractor will be required to:Complete weekly timesheet reporting in PeopleFluent/VectorVMS by COB Friday.
- Provide weekly personal status reporting by COB Friday submitted on SharePoint.
- Schedule project status meetings with both the BHSR Director, Vital Events Registry Manager, and Death Registry Supervisor.
- CONTRACTOR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS As appropriate for a business analyst and to meet general objectives shown above. Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills (including knowledge on pivot tables) and strong verbal and written communication skills.
