Job Description

The Task Force Director of Sales is responsible for the sales strategies and functions of the hotel.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. This role is for the true road warrior as travel will be 100%. 
  2. Develop and execute strategic plans in support of achieving optimal occupancy and ADR growth.
  3. Maximize total revenues and control expenses to meet and exceed hotel profitability objectives.
  4. Oversee operations of the hotel sales department including, but not limited to, direct sales, follow-up, sales administration, hiring of staff, training, managing, and coaching.
  5. Supervise the sales team where applicable.
  6. Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked, including generating proposals, writing contracts and customer correspondence.
  7. Oversee the event management of group bookings and ensure seamless on-property experience for all contracted customers.
  8. Proactively develop action plans, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients.
  9. Build and maintain professional and active relationships with clients, third-party meeting planners, referral sites, and other key sources as lead generators.
  10. Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations by Positively represent the hotel on site visits, trade shows, and sales calls.
  11. Attend any meetings and any other functions required by the hotel or management, even outside typical office hours.
  12. Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  2. Sales experience in hospitality or in a related field.
  3. Valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
  4. Possess highly developed verbal & written communication skills.
  5. Ability to influence others and negotiate.
  6. Have thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening, probing, supporting, closing.
  7. Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
  8. General database management knowledge.
  9. Ability to take initiative, to succeed under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  10. Basic market knowledge.
  11. Strong organization and presentation skills
  12. Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
  13. Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  14. Must have a desire to serve all guests.
  15. Must be 18 years of age or older to perform this job.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or certification in Hospitality, Marketing, or related field.
  2. Brand knowledge.
  3. Professionally well connected in local market.
