Job Details Principal Objective:
To collaborate with project engineering teams by managing the CAD work required to develop plans and specifications for engineering projects, as well as assisting in the creation of engineering studies.
Scope of Responsibilities:
1. Create CAD designs for assigned projects.
2. Participate in the preliminary planning stages related to CAD design.
3. Interpret project specifications, drawings, and scope to produce accurate CAD drawings.
4. Adjust and optimize work processes to ensure adherence to project schedules.
5. Conduct field surveys to support design activities and ensure compliance with performance, fabrication, and design specifications.
6. Develop project plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and other relevant details.
7. Produce detailed drawings and specifications for equipment, buildings, and construction materials.
8. Prepare construction documents, including building specifications and bidding materials.
9. Coordinate CAD activities with other engineering disciplines by collaborating with fellow CAD Designers.
10. Perform additional tasks as directed.
Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Manager of Civil/Structural Engineering and will work closely with project engineers, CAD Designers, and other project team members as necessary.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
1. Strong design knowledge and drafting skills in specialized engineering disciplines and their application to projects.
2. Preferably an Associate Degree in specialized engineering design, with 5 years of experience as a drafter/designer in an engineering environment.
3. Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations to clients and technical teams.
4. Ability to manage CAD efforts on smaller projects independently or assist in coordinating larger project efforts.
