Position Summary
Primary responsibility is to handle completion design, completion operations surveillance and completion effectiveness/evaluation assignments of a broad scope and moderate difficulty. The engineer will coordinate with asset team members and the completion execution team to support the completion of wells to ensure they are aligned with business objectives. May mentor less experienced engineers on fundamentals and supervise technical work. This role includes leadership positions on teams and projects.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
General Knowledge and Skills
Is competent in own discipline, possessing a thorough working knowledge of the discipline. Is familiar with the basics of other specialties and/or disciplines. Takes initiative to maintain and increase technical knowledge through practical application and knowledge transfer. Understands important geological, petrophysical and geochemical properties for unconventional plays. Working knowledge of different completion types, designs and fluid systems. Proficient and strong ability to learn and apply new skills and technologies. Proficient and strong use and application of standard engineering principles and techniques including industry and company standards in assigned discipline.
Computer/Software Applications
Proficient and strong level of skill in Microsoft Office, including Excel. Effectively utilize Spotfire to increase analytical speed and efficiency. Experience with WellView and/or Aries is a plus. Technical skills that allow easy adaptation to company specific software and other necessary related applications (GOHFER, ResFrac, Enverus PRISM, Spotfire and Alteryx). Programming skills are a plus.
Numeric and Analysis
Proficient and strong numeric and analytical skills. Ability to mine large data sets and establish bi-variable correlations. Transform bi-variable correlations to include multiple variables. Relate geology, completion design and reservoir characteristics to improve well performance. Demonstrate ability to normalize data sets to parameters with established correlations. Demonstrate utilization of correlations for predictive purposes.

Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills
Proficient understanding of unconventional resource plays in regards to completion design and execution for horizontal wells. Ability to run frac models and interpret outcomes. Proficient understanding of fundamental reservoir engineering disciplines including decline curve analysis (DCA), rate transient analysis (RTA), volumetrics, recoveries, fluid behavior, simple analytical history matching and flow regime identification. Proficient understanding of Pressure-Temperatures (PT) phase diagrams for practical purposes. Proficient understanding of probabilistic and deterministic methods. Can easily identify limitations in data set and range in certainty of results. Strong understanding of principles of flow in porous media including capillary pressure, Darcy's law and relative permeability. Familiar with core analysis and petro-physical evaluations. Proficient and strong knowledge/experience relating to geochemistry, operations, geological interpretation, well data integration, petrophysics and seismic attributes.
Education
B.S. degree in Engineering is required; Petroleum degree is preferred
