Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year!

Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm

Type: Open year-round with standard holidays, spring and winter breaks, and extended summer breaks off

Ages: 10-21 years old

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and track their progress.
• Plan and deliver effective instruction that accommodates students' varying learning styles and needs.
• Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports to create a safe and conducive learning environment.
• Work with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' learning and development.
• Modify and adapt curricula and teaching materials to ensure accessibility for all students.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and provide regular updates to parents and other stakeholders.
• Advocate for the needs and rights of students with disabilities within the school and the community.
• Provide emotional and academic support to students to foster their growth and independence.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Provisional K-6 certification and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification OR Teacher of the Handicapped certification
• Bachelor's or Master's degree are optimal
