Nuasin Next Generation Charter School is in search of motivated, mission-aligned individuals that want to join us in providing the scholars and families of the Highbridge section of the Bronx with the truly excellent school they need and deserve. We are looking for educators that believe in the talent and intellectual capabilities of our scholars. We are looking for educators that are excited to engage and ignite our scholars in the deep intellectual engagement of great ideas, problem-solving activities, and a complex understanding of our academic content. Below is a description of the teaching positions that are currently available. The anticipated salary range is $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 for a candidate who will work in New York City. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience to the job, education, and certifications.

Sped/MLL Coordinator

A Sped/MLL Coordinator at Nuasin Next Generation Charter School will:

• Manages and works with staff for the purpose of identifying scholars who are not making adequate academic progress and designing appropriate interventions.
• Manages resource allocations and curriculum enhancements for the purpose of ensuring that they are based on needs assessment.
• Oversees the continuum of appropriate educational programming for all scholars and implementation of schoolwide MTSS supports.
• Provides leadership and support to schools during the transition planning processes for scholars with special educational needs.
• Monitors and supports the implementation of Individual Educational Plans with school teams.
• Provides leadership during the development and revision of job descriptions for all scholars services personnel.
• Provides principals with current research-based models for the purpose of use in the identification of exceptional education scholars and for intervention in their academic progress.

• Meet with teachers regularly to discuss data trends; problem solves with teachers to prioritize the teacher actions that will most impact scholar performance.
• Use data to inform decision-making, develop and modify curriculum, and develop targeted and differentiated instruction.
• Serves as content and pedagogical expert in the areas for which responsible.

• Determine the need for curricular materials, assessment materials, and instructional resources; communicate ordering needs with the Manager of Business Operations.
• Collaborate with the School Leadership Team to continuously improve personal practice, classroom instruction, assessment, and scholar achievement, as well as the overall goals and mission of the school.
• Provide a wide variety of learning opportunities for teachers focused on analyzing scholar work, effective planning, targeted and differentiated instruction, as well as high expectations for classroom culture and behavior.
• Conducts regular formal and informal classroom walk-throughs aligned to scholar achievement and strategic goals.
• Observe and give feedback on school-wide systems and classroom culture.
• Directly coach and develop a portfolio of teachers.
• Observe lessons regularly and deliver targeted feedback to teachers.
• Collaborate with grade/subject teams to plan units, lessons and assessments; regularly share feedback.
• Model outstanding instruction for teachers.
• Actively and proactively participate in regular leadership team meetings.
• Lead staff training at the start, during and end of the school year and on professional development days.
• Assist teacher leaders (e.g., coaches, grade team leaders) in developing leadership skills.
• Model the Nuasin Next Generation professional and core values at all times; be a visible and highly engaged leader in the school community.
• Serve on a scholar support team, providing RTI support prior to referral.
• Lead team and schoolwide professional development on areas as defined by the strategic plan and other data points.
• Co-teach, model and provide exemplars for amazing instruction.
• Evaluates programs and/or projects for the purpose of carrying out and achieving objectives within the area of responsibility.
• Serves as district representative for IEP meetings as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of district billing.
• Ensures that all practices in the district are legal and ethical for each scholar/family so that each child has the opportunity to achieve at a high level.
• Prepares documentation and reports data.
• Provides support to families to facilitate scholar success.
• Supervises and evaluates pupil services staff and contractors/Referral service, providers.
