Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A licensed Special Education Teacher is needed to support a middle school LINKS program serving students with significant support needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This full-time, contract position runs from ASAP through the end of the current school year, with the possibility of extension. The teacher will serve as the teacher of record, providing instructional leadership, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and collaborating closely with paraprofessionals and 1:1 staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students with diverse learning needs within the LINKS program
• Implement and monitor IEP goals to ensure student progress
• Collaborate effectively with paraprofessional and 1:1 support staff to meet individual student needs
• Provide toileting support as needed while maintaining student dignity and safety
• Address sensory needs and manage behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors (SIB), with appropriate strategies

Qualifications:

• Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license
• Experience working with students diagnosed with ASD
• Comfort and skill in providing toileting support
• Knowledge of supporting students with sensory processing challenges and self-injurious behaviors
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work alongside paraprofessionals and staff
• Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Location:

• Middle school setting in Holyoke, MA

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of drug screening, fingerprinting, and a background/CORI check
• Ability to promptly notify school and recruiting team when absent due to illness
