High School Social Studies Teacher – U.S. History I, U.S. History II, Global Studies
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable High School Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about history, culture, and civic life while helping them develop strong analytical and communication skills. This position involves teaching U.S. History I, U.S. History II, and Global Studies at the high school level in a dynamic, student-centered environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in History, Social Studies Education, or a related field
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Social Studies (Grades 9–12)
Deep understanding of U.S. and World History content, primary source analysis, and historical thinking skills
Familiarity with New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and educational technology
Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
Prior experience teaching high school social studies preferred
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons that promote historical understanding and critical thinking
Incorporate primary and secondary sources to develop students’ analytical and research skills
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
Assess student learning using multiple measures and provide timely, constructive feedback
Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance instruction
Foster a respectful, inclusive classroom culture that encourages discussion and civic engagement
Collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and curriculum development
