Position : Production Manager

Reports To : Plant Manager

Job Summary and Key Objective s: We are seeking a dynamic Production Manager to lead continuous improvement and optimize all processes within our plant. You will oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will develop processes that maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity, while also providing significant growth opportunities for career advancement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Foster a high-performance culture with accountability in safety, food safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Plan, organize, and direct daily operations to exceed customer expectations.
  • Enhance production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize continuous improvement to boost overall plant performance.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence across all shifts for consistent leadership and policy application.
  • Ensure production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
  • Allocate resources effectively to achieve optimal results.
  • Align strategies with strategic initiatives, providing clear direction and focus.
  • Build trusting relationships with the workgroup; recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.
  • Coach and develop supervisors and teams on all shifts.
  • Analyze data to identify waste or overtime.
  • Commit to plant safety procedures.
  • Address employee issues and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest production management best practices.
  • Develop and control budgets, plans, and profits.
  • Implement cost-effective control systems over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Manage capital asset maintenance.
  • Lead and train to support the company’s positive culture journey .

Employee Safety Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive forklift training, qualification, and disqualification.
  • Ensure supervisors enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead by example in following safety practices.
  • Complete annual safety training for all employees.
  • Train new employees within 90 days on required safety protocols .

Food Safety Responsibilities :

  • Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Basic knowledge of the HACCP program.
  • Familiarity with allergen programs, glass and hard plastics policies.
  • Knowledge of AIB and SQF audit processes.
  • Identify food safety violations in the production facility.
  • Adhere to all food safety/security regulations and SOPs.
  • Report events requiring action to authorized personnel.
  • Coverage by an equally trained manager from Ops, QA, or SQF during absences .
  • Education and Experience :
  • Proven experience as a production manager.
  • Strong managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources).
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.
  • Knowledgeable in safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes (SQF, HACCP, AIB, USDA, OSHA).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to create accountability and lead by example.
  • Strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.
  • BS degree in Business Management or related field and 6-10 years' experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is beneficial .
  • Manufacturing: 4 years (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
