Job Description and Duties

CCHCS seeks to fill a Permanent Full-time Personnel Technician II (Specialist) willing to consider Personnel Technician I position in the Employment & Outreach Unit; Examination Services Section. 

Under the direction of the Examination Services Section Manager (Staff Services Manager I), the Personnel Technician (PT) II performs the more complex technical personnel selection duties and/or assists Exam Analysts (Staff Services Analyst/Associate Personnel Analyst) (SSA/APA) in the development and administration of examinations; may serve in a lead capacity to PT Is and an Office Technician (Typing) in the performance of technical and clerical personnel selection duties; and independently interprets and applies a wide variety of State Personnel Board selection laws, rules, and regulations, and departmental policies and processes in the performance of the various examination functions. May be expected to travel or work on weekends on occasion to administer examinations.

Working Conditions

Located less than 30 minutes from Sacramento and Lodi, the progressive city of Elk Grove offers a great mix of newly developed housing, business projects, and recreational opportunities.  You will enjoy working at our campus-style office complex with free parking, and perhaps even call Elk Grove home.

Positions eligible for hybrid telework, must be in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications (MQ) will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the MQ’s, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
