Education Program:
Thomas Taft Lab is a weekly education program that includes theory, look and learn, & mannequin/model classes. Thomas Taft Lab participants are given a Hair Artist in Training Model Checklist that provides clear benchmarks of the services required to be completed on live models in order to gain the required skills to be promoted to Jr. Hair Artist. On average, assistants disciplined in coming to weekly class with live models will complete their checklist in a years time.

Job Summary:
Thomas Taft Salon is a high-volume hair salon looking for a Salon Assistant to join our team. Our ideal candidate is an aspiring Hair Artists who wants to gain experience and connections in the industry. In addition to shampooing hair and mixing colors, you should be willing to perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping the floor and doing laundry. We expect all of our team members to represent the salon's core value, love, by exhibiting kindness, mutual respect, positivity and acceptance. Responsibilities:

• Shampoo hair
• Prepare hair stylist stations
• Sweep floors
• Mix colors
• Laundry
• Stock towels, products, and retail inventory
• Answer phones and schedule appointments
• Provide other assistance as necessary

Qualifications:

• Completion of a cosmetology school program
• Cosmetology license strongly preferred
• Professional or aesthetic appearance
• Customer service skills
• Flexible schedule
• Ability to adapt and work in a fast paced environment
