Position: Sales Engineer

Location: Orlando, FL (Remote 80% of the time, with occasional in-person meetings)

Pay: $80,000/year

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Project Estimator with a focus on mechanical piping systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plan and spec estimating.
• At least 4 years of Sales/Prospecting (hunting) new business within Plumbing/Piping systems installation or related industry (construction, commercial contracting, HVAC, etc.).

Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

Greene Resources is seeking a Sales Engineer to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

• Identify and prospect new clients to grow business opportunities.
• Maintain open communication with clients, providing updates, proposals, and solutions as needed.
• Review and interpret mechanical and piping drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
• Perform detailed material take-offs (MTOs) for piping systems, including pipes, valves, fittings, and related components.
• Develop accurate cost estimates, accounting for labor, materials, and time requirements for each project.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, ensuring they have the correct drawings and specifications for accurate bidding.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure precise bid development.
• Prepare and present written proposals, cost estimates, and budgets to clients.
• Ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are adhered to.
• Monitor and adjust project budgets as necessary to stay within financial limits.
• Provide subcontractors with relevant drawings and specifications during the bidding process.
• Estimate time, labor, materials, and product costs to determine overall project expenses.

Position Requirements:

• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Leadership experience in supervising and mentoring Estimators.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of material take-offs, estimating software, and project cost analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bidding projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
