(Competent) •Plans and administers professional nursing care in the Outpatient Surgery Center. Directs the work of technical or assistive staff supporting the operating room. Oversees room and instrument set-up, ensures appropriate levels of supplies or medications, and transfers the patient to and from the operating room. Monitors the patient and assists the surgeon during the procedure. Responsibilities •Patient Care: Demonstrates consistent use of nursing process in daily practice and manages more complex patients with minimal assistance. •Knowledge and Skills: Identifies personal learning needs to be competent in area of practice; independently performs advanced skills; begins to assist others to develop skills using the teaching/learning process. •Professional Relationships/Leadership: Initiate and effectively demonstrate behaviors which result in positive patient outcomes through group process; identifies need to change own practice based on PI/QI outcomes. •Quality Improvement/Research: Expands understanding of research process and the specific application to nursing practice
