Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Work Hours: Performs a forty-hour workweek. Assigned days and/or shift can be changed according to staffing needs. Must be available to work evenings, holidays, and weekends and overtime as required or assigned

Travel: Frequent travel; Required to travel by personal auto, company auto or by air to meeting sites and other locations

Summary of Functions

The Public Education & Community Partnership Specialist (PECPS) will enhance current community partnerships and source/establish new partners and opportunities to increase the general public's awareness and improve community participation in OneLegacy's campaigns and strategic programs. The PECPS will provide education and inspiration to our partners and community organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

Community Partnership Programs:

  1. Coordinates, establishes, and enhances Community Partnerships to support OneLegacy Foundation's mission to educate and inspire the community to register as a donor through California's Donate Life website to increase donation and transplantation.
  2. Researches, identifies, and cultivates relationships in OneLegacy's Donor Service Area including (Low Donor designated areas)
  3. Monitors trends and collects data to evaluate the success of programs and identify new programs to inform and enhance OneLegacy Foundation's practices.
  4. Serves as the primary contact for all Community Partners in designated region.
  5. Schedules and/or coordinates Ambassadors and/or other donation advocates for the following opportunities:
    1. Presentations or public speaking at donation educational events
    2. OneLegacy/Donate Life events
    3. Health fairs
    4. E-Campaign with Community Partners
    5. Personal stories to be published in community partner newsletters.
  6. Manage communication with current and potential Community Partners in the following ways:
    1. Providing organ donation education opportunities to external partners and communities that they serve.
    2. Create lunch and learn events to educate and inspire external partners.
    3. Offering year-round campaigns to spread the message of donation within their company and customers.
    4. Creating materials for community partners to send to their customers or display in the workplace to educate customers.
  7. Creates and establishes a database of all Community Partners utilizing a digital platform to link relationships within each organization:
    1. Manage and track database of (client changes/organization materials) and complete constituent records for all Community Partners.
    2. Maintain communication with Community Partners.
    3. Creating co-branded materials for employees and partners to wear in the workplace.
  8. Works with staff and community partners to create and implement a strategic plan for ongoing outreach, recruitment, and education. This will include:
    1. Fostering regional relationships with:
    2. Non-profit organizations
    3. Local and national businesses
    4. Community philanthropy and thought leaders
    5. Faith-based organizations.
    6. Civic Officials such as Council Members
  9. Coordinating events to celebrate Community Partners, such as:
    1. Fielding incoming partner/sponsorship requests and directs to appropriate person(s)
    2. Engaging and meeting with partners to advise on outreach and philanthropic strategy.
    3. Establishing a yearly Community Partnership Champion event to spotlight their efforts in the community and include DMV Managers, Mayors and Civic Officials and Colleges/Universities, High School Teachers, Students, as well as related non-profits with similar shared mission.
    4. Creating and establishing stewardship planning calendar to reach out to all OneLegacy Ambassadors to secure Sponsorship in kind support, and community partner opportunities.

Sponsorship and Signature Event Programs:

  1. Sources and establishes new Community Partners to support various campaign initiatives throughout the calendar year.
  2. Writes proposals for grants and fundraising:
    1. Identifying diverse communities that are aligned with donation and public health strategy using data and analytical insights.
    2. Supporting Public Education department in achieving organizational fundraising goals including sourcing new partners.
    3. Attending local meetings as determined appropriate to exhibit for additional Sponsors.
    4. Generate new leads to evaluate with Public Education team monthly to garner support.

General and Administrative:

  1. Interacts in an efficient, professional, and responsive manner with all levels of OneLegacy Governing Board, leadership, staff, business partners, Community Partners, Ambassadors, providers, and suppliers.
  2. Utilizes the appropriate resources to ensure duties and responsibilities happen timely and effectively while managing a high volume of work.
  3. Communicates areas of concern and opportunities for improvement to department leadership.
  4. Understands and identifies with the importance, significance and seriousness of the mission and work of OneLegacy and demonstrates professional conduct/behavior reflective of OneLegacy's respect, honor, admiration and reverence for the donor, donor families and recipients.
  5. Complies with and sets an example for all OneLegacy policies, procedures, Corporate Compliance and Codes of Conduct, and ensuring and maintaining confidentiality and professional behavior.
  6. Ensures financial controls and standards are met related to financial transactions.

Salary Range: $70,000.00 to $91,353.60
