Job Description
At RK&K, we are hiring a Project Manager to join our highly successful traffic group in Richmond or Fairfax, VA. As a Traffic Project Manager with RK&K you will support public and private agencies on traffic analysis and engineering programs throughout our portfolio.
Essential Function - Perform a variety of tasks, including transportation planning studies, traffic operations analysis, traffic engineering design plans and preliminary engineering design
- Support projects for all modes of travel including highway, bus, rail, bicycle and pedestrian in urban, suburban and rural environments
- Complete studies and develop high quality traffic reports with limited direction and be able to clearly, professionally present that information to our clients on site and virtually
- Prepare documentation and design plans for traffic control devices, including traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic control, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS)
- Utilize traffic analysis/simulation tools to perform traffic modeling and simulations
- Prepare technical reports and presentations
Required Skills and Experience - Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in traffic engineering
- Exceptional writing, verbal communication and presentation skills including public speaking
- Experience with Highway Safety Manual, Highway Capacity Manual and AASHTO guidelines
- Travel Forecasting experience
- Advanced experience with Synchro/SimTraffic and VISSIM
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Preferred Skills and Experience - Traffic control device design experience using MUTCD
- MSCE or MEngCE
