Job Description

Optomi, in partnership with a leading technology organization, is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Technical Product Owner to join their team in Plano. This hybrid role is designed to provide support to cloud engineering and developer experience teams, helping to drive the optimization and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps, CI/CD, and GitOps, combined with hands-on experience with AWS technologies. While TechOps will be a key focus, the role will involve a broad range of responsibilities in supporting cloud engineering processes, ensuring the team can deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Experience of the right candidate:

• 5+ years of experience as a product owner, managing product backlogs, defining product roadmaps, and working closely with development teams.
• 2+ years of cloud experience, with a strong preference for AWS (Azure or GCP experience may also be considered).
• Experience in DevOps , CI/CD , and GitOps processes, ideally from a product ownership perspective.
• Proven track record working with engineering teams, ideally in a technical role such as DevOps or Cloud Engineering.
• Strong familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including version control, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with cost optimization strategies and the ability to drive Technical Operations initiatives.
• Experience working with agile frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban .

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

• Product Backlog Management : Own and manage the product backlog for a scrum team, prioritizing tasks based on business and technical needs.
• Agile Ceremonies : Organize and participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to keep the team aligned and identify areas of improvement.
• Collaboration with Engineering : Work closely with development and engineering teams to break down complex requirements into clear, actionable user stories that align with business goals.
• Cloud Strategy : Support the delivery of cloud-based products, ensuring technical feasibility and cost optimization in collaboration with the team.
• Risk & Opportunity Management : Identify and address potential risks or opportunities impacting product success, escalating issues when necessary.
• Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with internal teams (DevOps, Security, Engineering) to align on priorities, gather requirements, and ensure smooth product delivery.
• Product Roadmap Development : Contribute to and maintain a product roadmap, outlining key milestones and deliverables for product development.
• Data-Driven Decisions : Leverage metrics and feedback to inform future roadmaps, ensuring alignment with the product’s vision and strategy.
• Cloud Cost Optimization : Help drive cost-saving strategies and monitor cloud spending in collaboration with the team to ensure efficient resource utilization
