Position Description The
Department of Anthropology seeks to develop a pool of candidates for postdoctoral scholars (post-doc) positions in the department and department centers of Anthropology.

Center for Archaeological Studies (CAS) A post-doc is a professional appointment designed to provide recent doctoral degree recipients with an opportunity to gain experiences and skills that will advance their careers. A post-doc works under the supervision and sponsorship of a regular faculty member, who serves as a mentor to the post-doc, and it is expected that the faculty sponsor will provide an orientation and development plan for the post-doc, impart the realities and variety of careers available to the post-doc, and encourage learning opportunities to broaden the post- doc's aspirations and experiences.
The appointment involves substantial and full-time commitment to research, scholarship, teaching, or other professional activities. Eligibility for annual reappointment is contingent upon satisfactory annual performance evaluations during the term period, in addition to continuity of funding and departmental need.
