Physician Liaison
Eye Specialty Group is seeking a full-time Physician Liaison. This position designs, implements, and tracks results for outreach and education efforts within the network of primary care referral doctors, as well as other selected sources of new-patient leads. This position offers a high degree of autonomy, business-development strategy creation, and independent implementation. The business-development strategy that is concepted by the Physician Liaison, and approved by management, will focus on advancing both patient volume and the financial strength of the practice. The position requires flexibility with hours and traveling to various doctors’ offices and other patient referral sources. Customer service, persistence, and teamwork are a must for this role.
Essential Skills/Responsibilities:
· Researches, identifies, and acts upon potential new-business opportunities.
· Sets specific revenue-growth metrics and regularly tracks and reports on performance.
· Develops and implements action plans to achieve business and sales objectives.
· Serves as Medical Services Agreement liaison in securing MSA’s with OD’s as well as communicating and educating the Optometrists regarding ESG’s Co-Management protocol.
· Maintains Eye Specialty Group’s strong brand reputation in the marketplace.
· Establishes and maintains positive working relationships and shared goals among local medical providers including opticians, optometrists, ophthalmologists and other key strategic partners.
· Adjusts strategy as needed to achieve success by proposing and gaining management approval on recommended adjustments.
· Maintains communication with referral sources to ensure partnership satisfaction and to share patient feedback about the referral.
· Participates in professional associations, organizations, and trade shows to enhance community knowledge of Eye Specialty Group, and to gain further understanding of the needs of referral sources and their patients.
· Attends after-hours or weekend engagements with the referral community at times.
· Provides monthly verbal briefings to management group.
· Provides networking support for ESG-sponsored continuing education program.
· Completes all compliance trainings as requested by company and required by law.
· Adheres to HIPAA compliance plan.
· Travels to all locations as needed as well as all referral, and potential referral, sources.
· All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:Job Specifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree and one to two years marketing/public relations experience; OR five to seven years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Medical experience preferred.
Skills
· Demonstrates professional verbal and written communication skills.
· Critical Thinking and Interpersonal skills.
· Proficient in common business software; EMR preferred.

Physical Requirements
· Appropriate hearing and speaking capacity, corrected or uncorrected, to enable suitable telephone communication skills to perform essential functions.
· Ability to sit/stand/walk as the job requires for long periods of time, as well as, climb/balance, lift, push/pull and stoop/crouch as needed.
· Exposure to moderate noise level.
· Appropriate visual acuity, corrected or uncorrected, to perform essential functions.
· Ability to operate office equipment requiring the use of one hand.
· Ability to travel to sites, doctors’ offices, stores, etc.
