Salary: $30 to $35 per hour

Serva Security is looking to meet and potentially hire experienced security professionals who wish to work in private school security. We are looking for hard-working, service oriented team-players with lady and gentlemen like manners, but who also have tactical skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducting security patrols and monitoring premises to prevent and respond to security incidents.
• When faced with a threat, be capable of choosing the appropriate and legal level of force necessary to preserve the life and safety of our clients, including deadly force.
• Secure campus and personnel by patrolling campus, including buildings, parking lots, and athletic fields, as well as inspecting buildings and access points
• Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor, and communicate with others in a professional, and respectful manner.
• Assist with daily carpool and traffic control.
• Accompany personnel and students between buildings and parking lots - upon request.
• Formally log all observations, occurrences, and surveillance activities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Politely direct campus guests to appropriate log-in points and professionally notify unwanted visitors to leave the campus grounds.

Hours: 8.5 hour shifts. Starting at either 7:00am, 10:00am, or 1:00pm Mon-Fri. Weekend shifts are generally 8:00am to 4:30pm.

MinimumStandards:

• Current Tennessee Armed Officer License.
• Pass Serva’s Physical Fitness Test.
• Demonstrable Firearms Skill and Training.
• Willing to put yourself in harm’s way for others.
• Must be able to pass the TBI criminal background check required to work in educational facilities with children present.
• Be able to comply with the eligibility to work in the United States via a Federal E-Verify check.

Preferred Candidate Qualities:

• Four years or more of law enforcement experience.
• Four years or more of military experience.
• Four years or more of school security/SRO experience.
• Completed an approved TN Active Shooter course.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED trained.

Physical:

• Be able to do 50 push-ups, then 50 sit-ups (or a 70-second plank), and 50 bodyweight squats in less than 8 minutes.
• Work will be indoor and outdoor and require long periods of movement and activity.
• Employment typically requires standing, walking, and working in noisy environments. 
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Carries firearms and other required security items at all times.

Compensation:

$30 to $35 per hour depending on skill set and work experience.
