WHOLESALE CHEMICALS DISTRIBUTION – SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Valley Solvents & Chemicals, a Texas based, independent wholesale chemicals distributor, since 1952, is seeking an experienced Sales Representative to become an integral part of our South Texas sales team. We are seeking applicants who have existing relationships with key customer decision makers in the South Texas market and have demonstrated a proven record of chemical and/or waste sales success. Direct experience in chemical or waste distribution outside of the Houston market will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

· Sales of industrial chemicals and environmental/chemical waste services

· Establish new accounts and service existing accounts

· Build territory and customer relationships

· Keep management informed of customer and market developments.

· Maintain professional image and technical knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Experience successfully selling a broad range of chemicals, waste services, and/or wholesale distribution products and services to major accounts within the South Texas marketplace.
• The ideal candidate would have an extensive knowledge of key markets served including Industrial, H I & I, Chemical Manufacturing, Coatings, Inks, and Oil & Gas.
• Have an extensive knowledge of the products and applications used in these markets including solvents, alcohols, ketones, glycols, and inorganic acids. Knowledge of waste regulations a plus.

· Excellent human relations skills. Ability to develop and maintain strong personal and working relationships with clients.

· Initiative-taking, high energy, problem solver.

· Tenacious, assertive, strong organizational skills, and a “hunter” mentality.

· Competitive “Winning” spirit, with a team player attitude.

· Must be willing to aggressively prospect and be a strong closer.

· Computer/CRM skills, eChempax a plus.
