As a Offset Press Operator at Presstek Printing, you will play a crucial role in the print production process by operating and maintaining lithographic printing presses. Your expertise in press operation, color management, and print quality will be essential in producing high-quality printed materials that meet client specifications. You will collaborate with production, prepress, and finishing teams to ensure a seamless print production workflow.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate a 4 color Printing Press, ensuring proper registration, ink density, and print quality.

Review job orders, specifications, and client-provided materials to prepare for press runs.

Load printing plates, adjust ink distribution, and make necessary press adjustments for optimal results.

Monitor press performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistent print quality.

Perform color matching and adjustments to ensure accurate reproduction of client designs.

Troubleshoot press issues, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate repairs as necessary.

Collaborate with prepress and production teams to ensure print-ready files and materials are available.

Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Meet production schedules and deadlines while ensuring quality standards are met.

Perform quality checks on printed materials, making adjustments as necessary.

Assist in training and mentoring junior press operators as needed.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new printing technologies, and equipment advancements.

Assist in process improvements to enhance print efficiency and quality.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in printing technology is a plus.

5 years of experience as a litho press operator, operating offset printing presses.

Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting lithographic printing presses.

Strong understanding of color management, ink mixing, and press setup procedures.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot press-related issues.

Familiarity with various press sizes, models, and printing substrates.

Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with press maintenance tasks.

Safety-conscious with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
