Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a
Nonprofit Senior Accountant on behalf of our client, an established nonprofit organization centered on social impact initiatives that provide financial support to Latino communities across America! This is a wonderful,
full-time, direct-hire opportunity that is
on-site in San Antonio, TX with a dedicated, mission-driven, and experienced team!
The
Nonprofit Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and support the financial management of the organization ensuring statements are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP, generating financial reports to be presented internally as well as externally, while also maintaining the internal controls.

Responsibilities: - Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Generate financial reports for various stakeholders, providing clear and concise information.
- Ensure adherence to grant agreements, donor restrictions, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Contribute to organizational budgeting and cash forecasting processes.
- Assist with internal or external income tax preparation.
- Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with other departments to streamline financial workflows and ensure accurate data capture.
- Oversee various projects from idea to competition as requested from the Controller and CFO.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience in nonprofit accounting as well as financial management specific to modeling and forecasting.
- Success in bookkeeping as well as accounting processes to identify areas to enhance workflows and efficiencies.
- Advanced working knowledge of U.S. GAAP specifically with nonprofits.
- Proficient in accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, and Sage Intact as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
- Proven project management experience.
- Desire to mentor and lead small teams as the organization grows.
- High attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
- Passion and dedication to the organization's mission.
