Looking to jumpstart a career in journalism? Here's your opportunity for hands-on experience in a working TV and digital newsroom. KIFI Local News 8 is looking for a hard-working, motivated and dedicated student to be an unpaid intern in our Idaho Falls newsroom. This internship is for Fall 2024.

As an intern, you will learn how to produce and edit stories. You will get a chance to shadow reporters, producers and photojournalists as they turn stories daily. You'll get real-world training by learning from experienced journalists. The ideal candidate pays attention to detail, has good people skills, knowledge of current events, and is a good writer. Students are expected to obtain and complete any forms necessary to receive credit for the internship experience.

Local News 8 interns learn about:

• Writing for broadcast and digital
• Producing
• Video Editing
• Photojournalism

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be attending an accredited college or university and studying journalism, broadcasting, mass communications, or a related major.
• Candidate must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student in college and receive college credit for your internship.
• Intern is required to work 10-20 hours per week.
• Flexible schedule. Some evenings or weekends may be required.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Interns are not eligible for company benefits. Internship is contingent upon the successful outcome of a background check and drug screening.
