Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Ocoee, FL
Duration: 7+ Months (Hybrid Role)

Position Overview

This hybrid role requires onsite work 2-3 days per week, with flexibility based on workload, project needs, and team collaboration requirements. The Network Engineer will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, and optimization of network systems. This includes developing innovative network solutions that meet organizational needs and leveraging emerging technologies, particularly wireless infrastructure. The role involves configuring and maintaining network equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and leading enterprise-wide projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Configuration and Management : Configure and manage networks from DMARC to workstations, fiber distribution, routers, switches, DHCP, and network topology to ensure optimal Quality of Service (QoS).
• System Planning and Implementation : Plan, implement, and forecast copper and fiber network systems, including wireless networks of moderate complexity, while managing resource requirements effectively.
• Mentorship : Mentor junior team members in network management, patch management, fault identification, and data/telecom access.
• Switching and Routing Expertise : Demonstrate in-depth experience with enterprise switching products, including capacity/risk assessment, contingency planning, and lifecycle management.
• Team Collaboration : Actively participate in team projects, meetings, and collaborative assignments.
• Network Protocols and OSI Model : Apply knowledge of the OSI model to understand data flow within the network environment.
• Equipment Configuration and Maintenance : Strategize and implement infrastructure equipment replacements and updates, maintaining alignment with security standards.
• Information Security Collaboration : Work closely with the Information Security Team to manage firewall rules and ensure compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards.
• Policy and Compliance Adherence : Follow departmental procedures and policies, including on-site travel for issue resolution and deployment of resources as needed.
• Incident Tracking and Documentation : Track incidents and IT equipment relocations using service desk ticketing systems, and document solutions to enhance process efficiency.
• Property Management Reports (PMRs) : Assist in creating and tracking PMRs.
• On-Call Rotation : Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for evenings and weekends.
• Physical and Travel Requirements : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required, and travel to remote locations for support as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Education : Bachelor s Degree or Technical Institute Degree/Certificate in Information Systems or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience : Minimum of 7 years of IT experience in infrastructure and network environments, including network operations, support, maintenance, and administration.
• Technical Skills : Experience with HPE/Aruba networking equipment is highly desired.
• Certifications : Relevant networking certifications are a plus.
