2nd Shift MATERIAL TESTER NEEDED IN SALISBURY NC*****

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Material Tester to join our team. The Material Tester will be responsible for evaluating the properties, quality, and performance of raw materials, finished goods, and production samples. This role involves conducting tests, analyzing results, and documenting findings to ensure materials meet industry standards and project specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of testing procedures, and experience with laboratory equipment and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Testing and Analysis:

   • Conduct tests on materials such as metals, plastics, concrete, soil, textiles, or composites to determine their physical and chemical properties.
   • Perform quality checks for strength, durability, flexibility, composition, and resistance to environmental factors like temperature or moisture.
   • Utilize specialized equipment such as tensile testers, hardness testers, spectrometers, or microscopes to perform precise measurements.

2. Data Collection and Reporting:

   • Record and analyze test data to identify patterns or discrepancies.
   • Prepare detailed reports summarizing test results, findings, and compliance with standards.
   • Communicate test outcomes and recommendations to engineering, production, or management teams.

3. Quality Assurance:

   • Ensure materials meet project requirements, regulatory standards, and industry specifications.
   • Identify and report defective materials, recommending corrective actions when necessary.

4. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:

   • Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
   • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot issues with laboratory tools and machinery.

5. Compliance and Safety:

   • Follow established safety protocols and ensure all tests comply with industry regulations and company policies.
   • Stay updated on industry standards, testing methodologies, and best practices.

6. Collaboration and Support:

   • Work closely with quality assurance, production, and engineering teams to address material-related concerns.
   • Assist in developing testing procedures for new materials or products.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma 
• Proven experience in material testing, laboratory analysis, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with data analysis and reporting software.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and handle materials or samples weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, or working with equipment.
• Comfortable working in laboratory, manufacturing, or outdoor environments, depending on the material type.

Work Schedule:

• Full-time position with the possibility of overtime based on project demands.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends, or travel to field sites, as required.
