Responsibilities

Chimney Construction:

• Building new chimneys according to architectural plans and specifications.
• Ensuring proper alignment and stability of the chimney structure.

Masonry Work:

• Laying bricks or other masonry materials to form the chimney structure.
• Using mortar to bind the bricks together securely.

Flue Installation:

• Installing flue liners inside the chimney to guide and contain combustion byproducts.
• Ensuring proper sizing and insulation of the flue.

Brick Repair and Replacement:

• Repairing damaged bricks or masonry components of existing chimneys.
• Replacing deteriorated or cracked bricks to maintain structural integrity.

Sealing and Waterproofing:

• Applying sealants or waterproofing materials to protect the chimney from weather-related damage.
• Preventing water penetration into the chimney structure.

Inspections:

• Conducting chimney inspections to assess structural integrity and identify potential issues.
• Providing recommendations for repairs or improvements.

Qualifications :

• Proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role
• Proficiency in Masonry Techniques: Knowledge and expertise in laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials.
• Understanding of Chimney Construction: Specific knowledge of chimney construction techniques, including flue installation and sealing.
• Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in bricklaying
• Strong attention to detail and precision in bricklaying work
• Ability to work with ladders, scaffolding and in high areas
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
