Position Summary The Department of
Biological Sciences at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a full-time lecturer position starting August 1, 2026. The
teaching load is the equivalent of 12 credit hours of undergraduate coursework each semester (fall and spring) and may include evening,
weekend, off-site, or online courses. Summer teaching is voluntary and compensated separately. The successful candidate will be expected to
teach in the introductory biology sequence (including labs) and will have the opportunity to teach classes in the candidate's area of
expertise. Lecturers are expected to participate in service activities to the department, school, campus, or community, such as regularly
attending and participating in faculty meetings and serving on relevant committees. This position does not carry any expectations for a
research program or publications. Review of applications will begin on October 20, 2025, and will continue until the position is filled. The
search will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.

Basic Qualifications Required Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of MS degree in Biology or related biological field.
- Evidence of
teaching experience and interest (including biology labs) at the university level.
- Excellent written and oral communication
skills.
Preferred Basic Qualifications:
- PhD degree strongly preferred (ABD candidates may apply, but all PhD requirements
must be completed by August 1, 2026).
- Strong background in a field of biology that complements existing faculty expertise,
especially experience in and ability to teach microbiology, genetics, molecular biology, or evolution.
- Experience with a variety of
teaching methods and curricular perspectives.
