Laundry Attendant Job Description Position Summary The Laundry Attendant is responsible for allcleaning functions to service designated suites and public areas, processinghotel laundry, including sorting and folding, as directed by the ExecutiveHousekeeper or the Housekeeping Supervisor. The individual is expected toactively develop and promote superior services skills in working with clients,guests and co-workers.
Position Type and Expected Hours ofWork This position could be eitherfull-time or part-time. All full-time positions are benefit eligible. Thisposition must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekendsand holidays based on business needs.
Essential Job Functions Provideprofessional and courteous service at all times.
Receiveand sort soiled linen into appropriate containers.
Processsorted linen utilizing the washers, dryers, sheet spreaders, ironers, andfeeder/folders ensuring finished product is inspected and meets qualitystandards.
Maintainassigned work area in a clean and safe condition.
NotifySupervisor/Manager of malfunctioning equipment, supplies needed, damagedlinens, to ensure laundry operation is running at maximum efficiency level
Mustpractice safe use of all cleaning agents.
Mustbe able to follow all safety practices such as wearing personal protectiveequipment, reading chemical warning labels, and other safe work practices.
Mustbe able to use two-way radios, telephones, general office equipment, industrialwasher, dryer, irons, vacuum, floor buffer, wet vac and other housekeepingequipment.
Maintainhigh standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliancewith dress code and uniform requirements.
Complywith brand standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hoteloperations.
Establishand maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and otherdepartments within the hotel.
Participatein all-employee meetings, events and other functions required by management.
Befamiliar with all policies, hotel rules and hotel terminology.
Performany other duties as requested by management.
Work Environment This position will be located at ahotel and primarily work in the laundry room.
Physical Requirements The physical demandsdescribed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee withor without accommodation to successfully perform the essential functions ofthis job.
Frequentlyrequired to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach withhands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, orhear.
Occasionallylift and/or move up to 50 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately100lbs.
Mustbe capable of bending over, stooping and working on the knees in order toperform such functions as scrubbing commodes, tubs, cleaning tiles and puttingaway items.
Abilityto reach overhead, utilize both hands, to bend over and to stoop and kneel.
Abilityto operate light equipment such as vacuum cleaners and dishwashers.
Mustbe capable of climbing and descending stairs during their shift.
Mustbe capable of moving light furniture, (i.e. chairs, tables, etc.) in order toclean under these items.
Abilityto stand during the entire 8 hour shift.

Travel No travel is expected for thisposition.
Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalentpreferred.
Knowledge of hotel, housekeeping andhotel laundry operations required.
Flexibility to work various shifts,including evenings and weekends. Long hours sometimes required.
Must be able to work weekends andholidays as needed.
Exhibits initiative, responsibilityand flexibility.
Excellent time management skills.
Friendly, cooperative manner andpatience in dealing with customers and staff.
Must be able to communicate clearlyand professionally in English with coworkers, employees, owners, andmanagement, both written and verbally.
Must be able to understand and followdirections, guidelines and work objectives as set forth by the supervisor.
Must be able to understand thepotential hazards and subsequent procedures involved in working aroundcommercial cleaning agents and light machinery.
