Job Title: Laboratory Manager Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to fill a laboratory management position. This role requires demonstrated supervisory capabilities, combining expertise in people management, planning, coaching, mentoring, and budgeting. The successful candidate will be accountable for leading a team, providing direction and support to team members, and collaborating closely with Technical Management, Business, Sales, and Marketing to achieve both short- and long-term business goals. Responsibilities + Directly supervise QC and technical service laboratory employees. + Ensure Quality Control (QC) and technical service efforts meet internal and external requirements, including customer expectations and legal compliance. + Manage rotating shifts to maintain production support. + Guide Sales and Marketing in technology and applications. + Supervise lab employees, maintain work schedules, approve timecards, and provide necessary training. + Counsel employees and document performance with semi-annual reviews. + Ensure all lab practices adhere to Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures. + Troubleshoot analytical methods to ensure accuracy and reduce variability. + Develop and analyze repeatability data and KPI's for manufacturing scorecards. + Establish and maintain quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls. + Work with supply to schedule and control inspection activities for raw materials and products. + Prepare annual budget for direct costs, manpower, and expenditures, ensuring lab operations within budget. + Undertake root cause analysis to address quality issues and provide corrective actions. Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related + 2-3 years of supervisor or managerial experience in the chemical industry. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL.
