We are looking for a Junior Financial Analyst to contributeto our team and work with our partners to keep our communities in outstanding physicalcondition and deliver excellent service to our community. You will help uscontinue to create and maintain well-managed, sustainable housing. By workingwith our financier and government partners, you will help us ensure that everycommunity remains in compliance with various federal, state, and localrequirements. The Junior Financial Analyst reports to the VP of Finance andwill perform routine and ad hoc reporting and analyses, track reportingschedules, submit reports to government and financial partners, maintainrecords, and provide clear communication. Additionally, you will have theopportunity to work with our Development, Asset Management, and Accountingteams to provide analytical support. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Create and maintain systems to track reporting requirements and deadlines, property information and statistics
- Perform compliance reporting to investors and government partners to meet loan covenants and maintain entities in good standing, including SAM.gov and Grants.gov account maintenance
- Scan, file, and distribute audits, income tax and personal property returns, annual filings, and other financial information as needed
- Assist management with the evaluation of refinance & acquisition opportunities
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly reports for VHI Board of Directors meetings, internal reports of portfolio status and other reports as required
- Facilitate communication between VHI accounting, development, management companies to obtain information for audit and other financial reporting needs
- Review operating statements, budgets, rent rolls, and property expenditures for effective property operations, report on findings and confer with colleagues regarding appropriate actions
- Create reports and analyses as directed and as needed
- Occasionally assist the Director of Asset Management with various tasks related to asset management
- Perform other duties as assigned
The Junior Financial Analyst reports directly to the VP ofFinance.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree, preferably with course work in accounting, finance, or related fields
- Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to analyze data and present information
- Ability to work both independently and on a team, as well as to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with financial database and reporting tools as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Teams
- Some familiarity with general accounting principles through education and/or work experience
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- Able to work in office or remote environments, as well as in the field, as directed
- Must be fully vaccinated and boosted forCovid-19, as well as willing and able to comply with various measuresrecommended for public health purposes, such as using a mask and practicingsocial distancing
