Compensation 45000 70000 annually plus excellent benefits This position is on site 5 days a week in our DTLA office ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND PACE is a local community nonprofit organization founded in 1976 to provide job training and placement services for the Asian Pacific Islander communities in Los Angeles PACE has since expanded into a variety of service areas all tailored to meet the growing and changing needs of the multi ethnic communities in Los Angeles County Now in addition to job training and employment services significant PACE programs encompass business development; early childhood education Head Start; financial education and asset building; housing and rehabilitation services; weatherization and energy conservation programs; and affordable housing development PACE serves more than 60000 people each year with our wide scope of services with approximately 350 staff PACE is recognized as a leader in addressing problems of poverty and economic inequity in ethnic minority communities and has a reputation of being responsive to community needs and is known for creating innovative solutions to the myriad of challenges faced by our clients JOB PURPOSE This position is responsible for assisting the Controller and becoming part of the accounting team which may involve grant accounting and reporting allocations of shared costs budget development ensuring compliance with Uniform Administrative Requirements and contract terms and conditions Position is responsible for monitoring cash flow to ensure sufficient cash on hand to cover various expenses Perform various reconciliations ensuring all month end and year end accrual are posted to the general ledger Making sure various periodic financial statement and grant reports are prepared accurately and timely to the funding source This is a great entry level position for candidates looking to start their career in accounting or nonprofit sector POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare monthlyquarterlyyearly financials reports and budgets according to schedule in timely mannerAssist with audits and yearly reports and schedules in timely mannerVerify and post and reconcile all transactions that are properly documented in accordance with accounting standards and government regulationsResponsible for maintaining daily cash flowReconcile cash and balance sheet accountsAssist with contract audits corporate audits including A 133 and SEFAWork on various tasks and reports assigned by the ControllerQUALIFICATIONS Bachelors Degree in Business Administration Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university or currently attending school working towards a Bachelors degreeMinimum one year experience as an accountant bookkeeperProficiency with Microsoft Excel is a mustProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work with minimal supervisionExperience with nonprofits or fund accounting is highly desirableSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must pass a pre employment physical examination including drugalcohol screeningCOVID vaccination required; must have two dose series of Pfizer or Moderna or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson Those that need a medical or religious exemption must reach out separatelyPHYSICAL DEMANDS The working conditions and physical demands of this position will be those that must be met to successfully perform the essential duties of the position Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties The physical environment the incumbent will work in is typically an office environment with moderate noise levels that would be expected in that type of work environment Representative physical demands of the job includenormal vision and hearing standing for extended periods sitting for extended periods kneeling and stooping manipulating objects with hands reaching overhead and occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
