Intermediate Assistant Construction Superintendent | MTA Projects
Client:
Our client has been in business in the US since 2006, operating in the Tri-State area as well as nationwide. The company is involved in major contracts such as the Purple Line Light Rail in Maryland, the I-5 North Capacity Enhancements project in California, and several contracts on the Tri-State Tollway in Illinois, as well as the South Corridor Bus Rapid Transit project in Florida. They are ranked 13th in the top 20 contractors by sector (Transportation) and 17th in the top 50 Domestic Heavy Contractors, according to Engineering News-Record.
Description:
Immediate need for ten + Assistant Superintendents to work on-site at MTA projects. The long-term project will consist of constructing 18 new ADA-compliant elevators and four ramps as well as perform other upgrades at 13 stations. Four stations in Manhattan and Queens, three in Brooklyn, one in the Bronx and one in Staten Island. Also included will be additional new electrical and communications equipment, architectural finishes, platform edges, ADA boarding zones and artwork.
Responsibilities:
Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force.
Assess Client and equipment needs with Superintendent.
Inspect contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract.
Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients.
Assist in developing and maintaining site logistics plan with Superintendent.
Conduct quality inspections and prepare reports.
Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts with the project team.
Communicate and enforce safety and health management program.
Manage schedules, prepare daily reports, and attend project meetings.
Job Requirements:
5+ years or more of experience in related work at the job site.
Knowledge of contract management processes
Familiarity with local trade unions and craftspeople.
Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with the terms and conditions of project contracts and purchase orders.
Familiarity with local utility company requirements.
Strong ability to read drawings and specifications.
Computer knowledge and efficiency.
Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and communication skills
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management desired, or equivalent vocational education but not at all required.
