Job Description

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and school curriculum
• Assess and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning
• Create an inviting, innovative and engaging learning environment that develops student critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Prepare students for strong academic achievement and passing of all required assessments
• Communicate regularly with parents
• Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, weekly assessments, and occasional parent/teacher conferences
• Work with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroom
• Attend all required staff meetings and attend designated school functions outside of school hours
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible
• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Valid Indiana Professional Educator or Initial Practitioner certification in Social Studies/World History (Substitute licenses are not accepted)
• Strong knowledge of Social Studies and World History subject matter
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
• Experience with technology integration in the classroom is a plus
