Description We are seeking an experienced, hands-on, and highly motivated General Manager to oversee the daily operations at the LAB. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the shop runs smoothly, meeting customer satisfaction, managing a team of mechanics, technicians, and customer service staff, and driving business growth. The General Manager will play a key role in maintaining high standards of service, managing budgets, inventory, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Requirements 21 Years of Age or Older CLEAN DRIVING RECORD - Please state if you do not have one Valid Driver's License Able to Commute to North Haven, CT for work No Felonies - Please state if you have one B.S in Business Management or related field Proven experience as a General Manager, Shop Manager, or in a similar role in the automotive industry Strong knowledge of auto repair, customization, and modification processes Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to build and maintain a motivated team Strong customer service skills with an ability to manage and resolve customer concerns Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Willingness to learn and improve Responsibilities Leadership & Business Strategy Take direct guidance from owner and accountant to align with the company’s strategic goals and priorities. Ensure all requests made by team members are completed promptly and efficiently. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by ensuring employees are motivated and supported. Track key performance indicators related to sales, customer satisfaction, employee performance, and shop operations. Regularly evaluate shop processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to increase efficiency, quality, and profitability. Develop and implement strategies to increase customer retention and attract new customers. Contact contractors as needed for any issues that arise at the shop. Oversee the seasonal decorations and visual merchandising of the shop. Build strong relationships with local dealerships to establish mutually beneficial partnerships. Oversee the onboarding process for new hires. Customer Service Prioritize customer satisfaction by addressing their needs and concerns promptly. Answer phone calls and handle customer inquiries. Check all emails daily and respond or forward as necessary. Greet customers warmly when they enter the shop. Monitor and respond to Google reviews in a timely and professional manner. Facility and Inventory Management Monitor and fulfill online orders. Restock all clothing and accessory inventory items as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Supervise the janitorial staff to ensure all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed to standard. Event Management Collaborate with the events team to plan, organize, and execute events.
